Scope and records

Bring the approved proposal, BOQ, drawings and any written variations; compare the installed work with the agreed scope.
Record the handover date, property contact and person responsible for everyday watering and care.
List unfinished items or defects with photographs, locations, an agreed responsible person and a follow-up arrangement.
Collect plant names, supplied sizes and the confirmed grass species or cultivar; do not rely on Dhaka or American trade names alone.

Levels, drainage and safe access

Walk paths, steps and lawn edges; note loose materials, trip points, unstable edging or exposed fittings.
Locate drains and inspection points; check that covers are accessible and outlets are clear.
Ask the team to demonstrate intended drainage routes and record any standing water observed during a controlled check.
Identify buried service routes where documented and mark areas where digging must be avoided.

Planting and lawn

Inspect plants for visible damage and record any concerns before signing off the walkthrough.
Check that mulch is kept away from trunks and stems and that stakes do not rub or constrict plants.
Ask for establishment watering instructions tailored to the supplied plants, soil, exposure and season.
Confirm when the lawn can be used and first mown based on rooting and the supplied cultivar, rather than a fixed calendar date.

Irrigation and equipment

Run each irrigation zone with the team; identify its valve, controller setting and intended planting area.
Check for leaks, blocked emitters, dry patches and overspray onto walls or paths; record corrections needed.
Locate the water isolation valve and ask how to stop the system safely in an emergency.
Where water features are included, request a pump and filter demonstration, safe shutdown instructions and cleaning access details; leave electrical work to qualified personnel.

Care, documents and follow-up

Collect written care guidance and note who adjusts watering after rain, heat or changes in plant growth.
Agree whether weekly, fortnightly or monthly maintenance is suitable and identify tasks needed between visits.
Obtain any applicable guarantee conditions in writing, including exclusions and reporting requirements; do not assume blanket plant survival cover.
Reconcile invoices and approved changes against the quotation; confirm payment obligations and follow-up contacts in writing.
