Rooftop & Terrace Gardens in DHA Karachi
Make a rooftop or terrace usable with planting and shade only after load capacity, waterproofing, drainage and wind exposure have been checked.
Safety comes before container selection
Ask a qualified structural professional to review saturated soil, pots, people and proposed shade structures together. No standard planter weight or roof capacity is assumed.
Protect the building
Keep drainage outlets accessible, review waterproofing and avoid penetrations without an appropriate detail. Irrigation needs overflow and leak management so planting does not create hidden damage below.
Create shade without losing airflow
Select containers and planting for the actual sun and wind exposure. Karachi courtyard and pergola examples offer spatial inspiration, but are not represented as documented rooftop installations.
